One version number#

ONEP uses one version number for every edition. The edition is shown as a word next to it. The number changes like this:

ChangeRaisesWhich number
A fix: a bug, security or wording fix, with no new capabilityPatchThe third number
A new featureMinorThe second number
A breaking changeMajorThe first number

Every build also carries a build stamp, a date and a short code, after the version number. Quote the version and build when you contact support.

Where the version is shown#

The same line appears in four places: below the sign-in form, in Settings › Status, in Settings › Diagnostics and in Settings › Updates. It reads ONEP, the edition word, the version, then build and the build stamp. If a build carries no version, the line reads Version not recorded.

Settings › Updates#

The Updates tab shows the installed version and build. It adds one line: This appliance is updated by installing a new ONEP release. Update checks and one-click upgrades are not part of this release. The tab has no buttons.

How releases are published#

  • One appliance per version, for all editions.
  • Changes are listed in the Release notes.

What an update carries#

  • Fixes and features for the platform.
  • The rules ONEP uses to identify images. The Classification content row in Settings › Diagnostics shows their version.

Changing edition is not an update#

Moving between Community, Lite and Pro needs no new version and no reinstall. Install the license file for the edition in Settings › Licensing; see Licensing.
