How the limits work#

  • Devices running at once counts machines that are powered on, starting or suspended, across the whole appliance and every environment. Devices that run no machine of their own, such as the built-in switch and cloud nodes, do not count. A start beyond the limit is refused with a sentence of the form ONEP Community runs up to <number> devices at a time (…). Stop some, or upload a license for more. Stop another device first.
  • Largest single device limits the CPU and memory of one device. It is checked when you create or edit a device and again at every power-on, including bulk power-on and Content Hub deploys. The refusal names the limit, the device and its size, and the smallest edition a device of that size runs on. Drawing devices is not limited. ONEP sets no ceiling on total memory; the hardware of the appliance is the limit.
  • Saved environments counts every saved environment on the appliance, whoever owns it. At the limit, creating, importing or generating another is refused with ONEP Community allows up to <number> environments (…). Delete one, or upload a license for more.
  • Discover downloads count images and container pulls together, per calendar month. The base image that a Content Hub build downloads does not count. Past the number, Discover refuses further downloads with The next one is possible on a date, until the month rolls over.
  • Content Hub deploys, AI topologies and Migration Hub imports that an edition limits count over any 30 days, so the next one is possible on an exact date. The Content Hub shows what is left, for example 1 of 2 Content Hub deploys available · counted over 30 days. A refusal reads … allows <number> Content Hub deploys in any 30 days (…). The next one is possible on a date.
  • Migration Hub imports run one environment at a time on every edition. While one import is running, another is refused with ONEP imports one environment at a time. Another import is in progress; try again when it finishes.
  • Content Hub cards that an edition cannot run stay visible, with Runs on ONEP Lite or Runs on ONEP Pro in place of Deploy. A single-device card is locked when its device is larger than the edition's largest single device. Multi-device ranges are larger, need a bigger appliance and are Pro only.
  • User accounts are limited by the number of seats. Creating one more than the edition allows is refused.
  • A license can carry its own numbers, and those win over the defaults above. A limit that the license marks as unlimited is not enforced. On Community, a license number counts only when it is higher than the default.

Settings › Licensing shows what is included next to what is in use. See What Settings › Licensing shows.

Editions#

ONEP carries Community and Lite together: one build, and the license sets the edition. An appliance with no license, or with an expired one, runs as Community; when a paid license ends there is a 14-day grace period first, and nothing is deleted or stopped. See Community or Lite: one download and Release notes. Features that Community and Lite do not include are listed in What is hidden or locked.
